About

Twenty-five private acres. Six hundred feet of waterfront. Zero neighbors. Watch the tides from the gourmet kitchen, roast s'mores at the fire pit, explore down to the shore. Bucksport 5 min, Acadia 1 hr, Bangor airport 40 min. Well-behaved dogs welcome

Good to know

Total privacy at the end of a quarter mile gravel driveway through nearly 25 mostly wooded acres. Near the home site there is about 2 acres of cleared land that is often visited by deer, bald eagles, and more! Enjoy a pair of rocking chairs on the side porch and roast some s'mores from the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. Make it a point to get out at night to take in the incredible stars. Explore the property and follow the wooded trail down to the 600' of shoreline. Though swimming is not recommended here due to the mudflats we have fun collecting driftwood and taking in the ocean breezes. Bringing your dog? They'll love it here. So much space to roam, open lawn, and a trail down to 600 feet of shoreline to explore. We welcome up to 2 dogs. Please keep dogs leashed near the water's edge, clean up after them on the property, and trim nails before arrival to keep our floors in great shape for everyone. We spent six months remodeling the 2400 sqft house to ensure you and your guests have a comfortable stay. The master bedroom has king bed and a flat screen TV with a Roku. There is a second and third king bed in an oversized room that has plenty of space to roll out a yoga mat. The third bedroom has two twins. For us, the center of the house is the generously appointed custom kitchen. From in front of the 36" Wolf Range with a char-broiler you get 180 degree views of the property and river. A Wolf oven and Sub-Zero fridge cover the other essentials. Granite counters and a large island with seating for four keep the chef happy and in good company. The dining table comfortably seats six and also has fantastic views of the water. If you're feeling like cooking out doors, there's a propane grill available as well. The house is located near many wonderful excursions. Acadia National Park is just about an hour away as well as the always charming Bar Harbor. Closer by there's Castine, Blue Hill, and Belfast. Five minutes away in Bucksport there's a boardwalk that follows the Penobscot river. The Penobscot narrows bridge and Fort Knox are just about 10 minutes away. Nearby there are great lakes and parks with public beach access and extensive and boating opportunities. Our favorite seasonal restaurant in the summer is Carriers Mainely Lobster which is less than two miles away! There is a 1/2 bath downstairs and the upstairs bathroom has a large soaking tub and separate large walk in shower. While there are a lot of heads in the shower, the well doesn't provide good enough pressure to enjoy all of them at once. We've been looking into how to solve that problem. If you are bringing work with you the high-speed cable internet will let you connect to your meetings while the kids access your streaming content on the Roku's.

Accessibility

Neighborhood

You'll be over 1500' off a dead end road in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk down the road towards the point to get some different views as the tide comes in and out. You can head the opposite direction for some ways and get views of the eastern channel and on clear days spot the top of the Penobscot narrows bridge. During the summer, hop in your car and drive for five minutes to get to some great seasonal restaurants and downtown Bucksport.

Guest Access

You'll have access to the whole house except for a supply closet and the garage. You will also not have access to the barn, but we usually keep some of the bigger lawn games under the overhang there.

This is the perfect place to stay while visiting Maine. The house is very far from the road, so it’s very private and peaceful. It is an easy drive to Bangor, Belfast, and Ellsworth. The best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The home and property are both beautiful!

We had a lovely stay and everything was exactly as listed. Very peaceful and private location for a great, relaxing weekend. Brian was a super host and we would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay! The kitchen is fabulous. Very comfortable for cooking Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner. We were blessed with a white Christmas and the setting was gorgeous. Snow plows came right on time and it was easy to get in and out. Brian is very responsive and the whole experience was great. Convenient location for visiting our son at Maine Maritime.
